INTA Introduction

INTA is an abbreviation of International New Town Association, which was founded in 1976. By the time when developing plans, such as renewal township and Urban planning were adopted in large scale. Its name was changed to International Urban Development Association in 1993, and still used INTA as its logo. The major goal of INTA is to promote the exchange of experiment of city development and provide with all the concepts and actual practices to all business and organizations, so that the social development can be balanced. In the meanwhile, it also plays the role of global network and forum for all nations to enable the method of long going strategy of city development.

INTA is an international nonprofit organization spreads over the 4 continents, which includes Asia, Africa, America and Europe, with members over 60 countries. In order to fulfill the principle, not only the seminars and world congress are held every year, but also the case study and the relevant field are innovated in as communication of knowledge and experiment. Taiwan is also one of the original founder countries.

Annual Conference of INTA 33

Mr. Michel Sudarskis who is the chair secretary of INTA, together with 6 European experts were invited for lectures at the International Urban planning Renewal forum in 2007 at Taipei, in order to be the host country of the 33rd annual meeting.

A preparation meeting was scheduled by the Council for Economic Planning and Development, Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior, Taipei and Kaohsiung city Governor, a memorandum was signed at the same time. An announcement is made both in membership meeting and committee meeting in Paris on 2007 which includes the relative topics and locations for the 33rd annual conference. The opening ceremony will be in Kaohsiung and the closing ceremony will be in Taipei.

INTA 33 and Idea for Action Kaohsiung International Competition

The topic for the 33rd annual conference is renewal of urban environment. The Kaohsiung city government work out with INTA for “Idea for Action Kaohsiung International Competition” in the topic of mobile creation, which is meant to create a new space atmosphere, environmental atmosphere, new technology enabled services and new industrial technology. All the experts of the field are invited by the city Government. The idea is to get the different points of views from different angles to explode the future development and vision for Kaohsiung city government as future reference.
